About Us
The NJ Social Marketing Collaborative was developed by the New Jersey Prevention Network (NJPN), the Partnership for a Drug Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) and the New Jersey AD Club in order to positively impact the 18 to 25 year olds and their parents. Bringing together the expertise of these three organizations and adding the full Collaborative membership establishes a strong base to develop and implement a statewide effective prevention program.

NJPN’s Mission: The New Jersey Prevention Network, Inc. (NJPN) is a 501(c) 3, and our mission is to provide a statewide coordinated approach to advocacy, collaboration and education to promote wellness and to keep individuals, families and communities healthy and safe. NJPN, incorporated in 1998, has been successfully creating, coordinating and facilitating substance abuse prevention and training programs since its inception. As a premiere public health agency, NJPN builds capacity and fosters positive collaboration to address the number one health problem in New Jersey – substance abuse and addiction.
NJPN is a recognized expert in the field of substance abuse prevention and training initiatives for both the substance abuse prevention and treatment workforce. We are dedicated to working in partnership with organizations, government agencies and community leaders across New Jersey who are committed to reducing substance abuse and creating a healthier New Jersey.
NJPN has a member agency in every county that provides direct quality prevention services to youth, families and communities. Using a multifaceted approach, NJPN and its members provide information, technical assistance, resources, and training using evidence-based programs and practices to enhance New Jersey’s prevention services.

PDFNJ’s Mission: PDFNJ was created in 1992 with a mission to “unsell” drugs and alcohol to the residents of New Jersey, specifically the youth of the state. Best known for its statewide anti-drug advertising campaign, PDFNJ is a private not-for-profit coalition of professionals from the communications, corporate and government communities whose collective mission is to reduce demand for illicit drugs in New Jersey through media communication. To date, more than $60 million in broadcast time and print space has been donated to the Partnership's New Jersey campaign, making it the largest Public Service advertising campaign in New Jersey's history. Since its inception the Partnership has garnered over 46 Advertising and Public Relations Awards from National, Regional and Statewide Media Organizations. Today, PDFNJ continues to serve as a substance abuse prevention alliance to localize, strengthen and deepen drug and alcohol abuse prevention media efforts in our state. Their experience, media connections and social marketing campaign expertise will be critical to this project.
